Mike and Monica Prescott are the Senior Pastors of City Life Christian Centre (formerly Word of Life Centre), located in Alberta’s “oil city” – Leduc. In May of 1992, they were married, graduated from Bible College (at the Word of Life Bible College in Red Deer, Alberta) and held the first church service in Leduc – all in the same month. Later that summer they moved to Leduc where they began to pioneer the church. Through various community surveys, one of the recurring comments was, “our city needs something that reaches young people.” This became one of the primary needs the church sought to remedy in the community and region. Today, City Life still has a strong commitment to reaching and influencing the next generation as it rises up.
Over the years, what was once a small weekly Bible study, has grown into the thriving, creative and life-giving church which City Life is today. With a very contemporary feel to it, City Life is impacting people from every sphere of life – from professionals to trades people and students; young people to grandparents. It is a place where the generations come together and partner to pass on a legacy to the following generations. The Church’s influence is both local as well as national and international through various outreach and missions projects.
As the church continues to grow, its heartbeat remains the same: to be a church passionately in love with Jesus Christ and alive with His passion – which is to reach those that are lost and to see His Church be built.
